TAP

Classes available for 4 ½ yrs to 16+yrs. Classes also available for Adults. Tap is the discipline that appeals to all from a young to old. We all love to make a noise, especially children. Tap gives the children a chance to harness the ability for noise and turn it in to an ability to dance. Tap begins with the Primary Class At the age of 4 ½ yrs the children may choose Tap as their main discipline. Or if attending the pre-primary ballet class may take advantage of the fortnightly attendance option. Exams begin with Primary at 6yrs and go through to Grade 6 and beyond. Tap classes are placed alternately on the Timetable as a lot of children do both Modern and Tap as they compliment each other so well. (see timetable and fees) This discipline is a popular choice due to the noise factor. The syllabus Builds nicely through the grades, and by the time the children reaches Grade IV They have become accomplished Tappers.

At this point the Students go onto the Medals, these are fun exams that develop artistry and are a light note before moving onto the higher Grades that are a great challenge.

Of course it goes without saying that a large portion of Tap dance is based On rhythm and music which is covered comprehensively in class, Children Will not only be instructed on timing and different Rhythms but on the quality of Sounds that they create as a dancer.

As for the Adults, this discipline is a fun way to keep fit and tone up the legs And tummies, whilst learning a technique that will set you apart from your Average keep fitter.

All exams are taken with the I.S.T.D. Exams Grades 1 to 3 gives a GCSE grade C-F. Grades 4-6 gives a GCSE grade A-C The I.S.T.D grades above this attribute an A Level once complete.

Exams are not compulsory the choice lies with parent and child, however they are encouraged as they develop a sense of achievement.

Watching Week at the end of each term the parents are invited into the Classroom To watch the last class. Cameras are permitted and the Children enjoy showing Parents their achievements of the Term. A great way to finish off the Term.
